RAYARD Hisaya-odori Park
レイヤード ヒサヤオオドオリパーク

RAYARD Hisaya-odori Park was opened in 18 September 2020 - a brand-new stylish leisure spot for everyone to spend a day hangout out with friends and families, chilling in cafes, having picnic on the grass field, chilling in the bookstore-cafe, or shopping at preppy shops like Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and Michael Kors.
Makoto and I went there and took a look at the area on 23 September.
We arrived at 14:00 and decided to have a picnic on the grass field. Makoto really enjoyed look at people passing by. After her lunch, she sat on the picnic sheet and spent about 20 minutes simply making eye contact with every single person who passed by.... and she loved this "activity" so much. People who passed by seemed to have a great mood and all of them smiled or said "Hello!" to Makoto. :-)

Then, we took a walk and checked out different "Zones" of the park (the grass field is in "Zone 1"). Most of the shops are cafés. There were about 12 cafés, all specialized in different kinds of food and drink though. There was also Ralph's Coffee, which was located inside the Polo Ralph Lauren fashion shop. I didn't know if the coffee is particularly delicious there or people were just fascinated by the brand but there was a long waiting line in front of Ralph's Coffee. We continued to walk around and checked out the shops, and suddenly we found Snoopy and Charlie Brown in front of PEANUTS Cafe!

Then, we returned to the grass field, and Makoto started to run around, laid down and rolled over her body on the grass. She had so much fun (yes, with no toy at all!)! She just simply enjoyed jumping up and down, running around, and moving her body. There were other kids playing and running on the grass field as well. Some babies are also crawling on the grass. The atmosphere was really joyful and nice!

Finally, before going back home, we went to the bookstore called "NAGOYA TENRO-IN" (also in Zone 1, near the grass field) and read some picture books together. This is a book café where people can pick a book, bring it and read at the table, and enjoying a cup of coffee at the same time. There is also free Wi-Fi service. When Makoto is older, I will let her play on the grass field by herself, and my self I will be sitting at the terrace of the book café, enjoying a cup of hot coffee with a nice book, and from time to time look up and enjoy the view of Makoto playing on the grass. :-)

All in all, I think RAYARD Hisaya-odori Park is quiet ideal for families who want to spend a morning or afternoon chilling out. For families with young children, you can enjoy having picnic, playing on the grass field, and reading picture books at the bookstore with your children.

Sometimes, the park will rent out tents (500yen) and hammocks (500yen), from 10:00-17:00, so that people can just simply come to the park and enjoy camping without bringing any heavy belongings (just need to bring food!). The renting service counter is located on the grass field (Zone 1). But it is uncertain when the renting service is available.... we need to check out their event news to confirm the dates: https://rhp.nagoya/

Last but not least, be reminded that Saturdays and Sundays are quiet crowded!!
